Enabling lossy textures also gets you out of memory

Trying to avoid the "textures discarded due to insufficient memory" dialog I had enabled lossy textures in my Second Life viewer, which for a couple days seemed to have done the trick but today, after wandering a while around a mesh stuffed house I finally got the dreaded dialog, so I guess enabling lossy textures just decreases the chance of encountering this issue but does not avoid it completely. Seems a better alternative is having a video card with 2 gigs of ram and disabling lossy textures.
